It’s the season of goodwill, of joy, of celebration and hope. It’s a time of giving, of love and kindness.
As we prepare to welcome a new year, maybe a better year, we once again call upon Kenton’s kindness and generosity. It’s becoming a cliché but we’re all in this together; if we face problems as a united community, we can overcome mighty obstacles …
We needed oxygen machines; you came to the party. Now we need AED devices – electric machines used to assess heart rhythm and “zap” it back into correct functioning. They are computerised and automatic, and can by used by anyone, with minimal training.
Last week a young life was lost which might have been saved had one of these devices been available.
These devices cost in the region of R15000 each, and the target is two for Kenton, one at Hi Tec and one in the doctor’s rooms. And maybe one in Bushmans and a fourth in Boknes/Cannon Rocks.
In just the first few hours, donations received will already cover the cost of one such device, and we are well on our way to the second. And should there be any surplus, it will be used to pay for training paramedics and first-aiders.
Please give generously – every cent counts! And it could be your life we are empowered to save!
