How it all started
Coastal Kindness was founded in July 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Given the very limited number of healthcare workers in our area, we supported them as best we could by raising money to provide valuable resources such as oxygen machines and cylinders, C-Pap machines, masks, pulse oximeters and AED Machines.
We assisted our then one and only local GP by delivering medical equipment to patients as required and by collecting it when no longer required. We took meals to our overworked healthcare personnel and food to some members of our community who were in dire need.
We offered a collection and delivery service of medications from our pharmacy for those too ill to get out or in quarantine. In addition, we provided administrative assistance to the Department of Health for data collection and the organisation of the vaccination stations.
We also kept our community advised of Covid-19 updates and notices from DOH by way of blog posts and WhatsApp notifications.
