First responders

Feb 1, 2024

They are just a phone call away, and give freely of their time and expertise.

By now you must be aware that Coastal Kindness has a team of First Responders, equipped with jump bags (filled with emergency medical supplies) and an AED, all of whom have completed a Level Three First Aid course registered with and accredited by SETA (Sector Education and Training Authority).

If you don’t already have their emergency number on your phone, why not?

They are just a phone call away, and give freely of their time and expertise, ready to assist in a medical emergency or at the scene of an accident.

And who are they, these unsung heroes, these knights in shining armour? Well … the truth is they are - like you and me - ordinary everyday residents whom you might bump into in our local Spar or with whom you might exchange a wave and smile as you pass on the road.

Another truth is that they are stretched pretty thin on the ground, and we really do need more of them to share the responsibility of making our community safer. So you or I could easily join their number.

How?

Sign up for our next First Aid Level Three course, organised by Coastal Kindness and run by Gardmed. There are two examinations (one practical, one theoretical) and the most recent group achieved a 100% pass rate! The cost is R900pp, and the next course is scheduled to run Thursday 11 – Sunday 14 April 2024.

Can’t make that one? We will run more courses later in the year.

If you can actively contribute to making our community safer for all who live, work and holiday here, call or WhatsApp Patsy on 083 283 4701 to book your place, to be placed on the waiting list or even to sponsor someone else.

Coastal Kindness - making a difference.
