Clinic upgrades

Feb 20, 2023

Bureaucracy, red tape, proper procedures and protocols - call it what you will, but it has taken months for Coastal Kindness to get the official go-ahead for the upgrade of our local clinics. Not that we’re complaining; checks and balances are important.

But Coastal Kindness is all about transparency and accountability. We waste not one cent of the monies we raise and every single rand is spent on the well-being of our community.

We now have a working committee up and running (hard) and plans firming up to raise the funds required to turn especially the dilapidated Marselle clinic into a place where our health workers can provide care in dignified surroundings. We aim for a safe venue, where the roof doesn’t leak, where there is decent seating in the waiting room and hygienic conditions in the washrooms!  Plans are drawn up and costings have been done by some of the experienced professionals we have in the Kenton area, whose generous assistance with their time and skills makes it possible to improve the lives of all who live here.

The first phase of our project, once we have the funds, is a security fence around the clinic - an absolute necessity, you will surely agree.

Our target is two million rand, which will enable us to complete the proposed renovations first at Marselle and then at the Kenton clinic.
