The active Medical First Responders group is extending their reach. There are now members in Kenton, Bushmans, Rivers Bend, Merry Hill, Ekuphumleni, Klipfontein, Marselle, Boknes and even one on an outlying farm.
On the first Monday of each month, they get together with Adrian, from Gardmed, who will demonstrate new first aid techniques, refresh memories of lessons learned in Level 3 training and discuss real life scenarios.
The May meeting was attended by eighteen people all ready and willing to help our community when and where they can. If you’d like to observe a monthly meeting you would be most welcome to come along, give Nick Albrightson a call on 084 044 2223 for a date and time as we can only accommodate two observers per meeting.
And if you’d like to train as a Medical First Responder our next FIRST AID COURSE LEVEL 3, presented by Gardmed takes place on:
Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th May plus Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th May (four days/two weekends) from 09:00 to approx. 16:00 daily.
There will be a practical and a written examination. Subject to passing the assessments, participants will receive a certificate approved by the Department of Labour.
